FR | La première partie de l’exposition est consacrée à neuf générations de violoncellistes du Conservatoire de Bruxelles, dont le plus connu est François Servais (1807-1866), surnommé le « Paganini du violoncelle ». La seconde partie présente la carrière d’Eric Feldbusch (1922-2007), qui, comme violoncelliste-virtuose, compositeur, chef d’orchestre et directeur de Conservatoire, a marqué la vie musicale belge du XXe siècle.
NL | Een eerste deel van de tentoonstelling geeft een overzicht van negen generaties cellisten in het Conservatorium van Brussel. De bekendste is François Servais (1807-1866), de ‘Paganini van de cello’. Een tweede deel belicht het leven en de loopbaan van Eric Feldbusch (1922-2007), die als cellovirtuoos, componist en conservatoriumdirecteur zijn stempel gedrukt heeft op het Belgische muziekleven van de 20ste eeuw.
EN | The initial part of the exhibition is dedicated to nine generations of cellists from the Brussels Conservatoire. The most familiar is François Servais (1807-1866) known as "the Paganini of the cello". The second part is a presentation of the lifetime's work of Eric Feldbusch (1922-2007), who, as a virtuoso cellist, composer, conductor and director of the Conservatoire, left his mark on Belgian musical life in the 20th century.
